Brian Healy Architects | Somerville, Massachusetts: Brian Healy established his practice here in Boston in 1986 and the designs produced by his office have received over fifty national and regional design awards, including seven within the Progressive Architecture Award Program. He was selected as an Emerging Voice by the Architectural League of New York and has received residencies from the American Academy in Rome, the MacDowell Art Colony, and Amherst College. His firm has won first place in international design competitions, including Chicago’s Initiative to Redefine Public Housing and the Mill Center for the Arts in Hendersonville, North Carolina. The work spans a diverse range of scales and settings – from installations to urban design – and has been extensively published and exhibited both here and abroad. The monograph Commonplaces: Thinking of an American Architecture documents the inherent links in their work between each place and its unique setting. He was the Design Director at Perkins+Will in Boston from 2011-2014 and was elevated to the College of Fellows at the AIA in 2015.
